Cristiano Ronaldo beats Messi and Buffon and is the best Player in Europe

It couldn’t be any different! Last season’s best players in European football is Cristiano Ronaldo.

After a magical season, the Portuguese won UEFA’s award and confirmed the expectations.

The jury that selects the winner is composed of journalists selected by UEFA and managers.

In similar fashion to FIFA’s, each voter can choose the 3 best players by position, giving 5,3 and 1 points, respectively, to the 1st,2nd and 3rd place.

It is not the first time that CR7 achieves this trophy of UEFA’s best player. He had already won this trophy twice on the 2014 and 2016 seasons.

But this one was special, because Ronaldo was tied with Messi, with 2 of these trophies each. But now he is leading the race by taking the 3rd trophy home! Ronaldo shared the honour with all his teammates:

I’m happy and honoured for winning this trophy again. I have to thank my teammates, I’m happy for them. I also thank my national team.

I know we didn’t get the trophy this year, but they give me motivation to work hard.

I am very happy. I want to thank Real Madrid fans and everyone that has helped me to win this trophy. I am very happy.

Cristiano Ronaldo the Best in Europe

There wasn’t even that much suspense this year. Despite Messi and Buffon having had a great season, Cristiano Ronaldo was by far the most decisive player and had a fundamental role on Real Madrid’s titles.

I remind you that the Madrid’s team won the Spanish league title and also the Champions League last season.

Considering the matches played for Real Madrid and for Portugal’s National Team, Cristiano Ronaldo had the impressive record of 56 goals scored in 56 matches. On Real Madrid, he scored 42 goals in 46 matches played.

On the other hand, for Portugal, the superstar scored 14 goals in 10 matches. On the Champions League final stages, CR7 was breath-taking, scoring 12 goals in the competition, with 10 of them being in the final stages.

This award serves as an indicator for the most important prizes that are given at the end of the year.

It seems like nothing will take the Ballon d’Or away from the Portuguese’s hands. He deserves it.
