Scotland vs Portugal Betting Tip and Prediction
- Updated: 14th October 2018
Scotland vs Portugal – International Friendly :The Scottish national team is a team that has a very typical British playstyle.
Abusing the long balls and enjoy playing more direct football, being dangerous from set pieces.
Scotland failed to qualify for the World Cup although on the last couple of years, they’ve been a team that fights clearly for one of the qualification spots for the World Cups or EUROS.
The Scots are also playing in the UEFA Nations League, where they’ve beaten Albania by 2-0 at home but then lost to Israel by 2-1 on an encounter where they were even in the lead, but eventually allowed the opponents to turn things around.
Still, this group is still wide open, and the Scots are still in a good position to qualify themselves. They will now make some experiments against Portugal, a team of higher caliber.
Portugal: The Portuguese national team has been giving positive responses after a World Cup where they were very underwhelming, especially in terms of playing quality.
Portugal has been playing without Cristiano Ronaldo that continues to do without playing for Portugal at this stage in order to better manage his career and maintain his performance levels high.
On the UEFA Nations League, Portugal has beaten Italy by 1-0 with a goal scored by André Silva.
It was a deserved victory against a very good team. Then came Poland and Portugal has also beaten them by 3-2 in what was a good football match.
They got off to a bad start, conceded a goal, but still before the end of the 1st half, they’ve managed to turn the result around. I should also mention that Bernardo Silva and André Silva have been on fire for the national team.
Portugal will surely make some changes to their usual starting XI.
Scotland vs Portugal – Betting Tip and Prediction:
On a match where we will see some experiments on both sides, I believe that we will have an interesting and open match, with two teams looking to win.
I see the Scots creating danger in some set pieces and with some dangerous crosses to the Portuguese box.
But I also see the visiting side creating danger with good attacking plays from their players up front.
I expect an open encounter with some of the least utilized players of both teams wanting to justify the opportunity given by their respective managers. With that, I expect at least a goal before half-time.
