São Paulo vs Chapecoense Prediction and Betting Tips
- Updated: 19th August 2018
São Paulo vs Chapecoense – Brazilian Serie A :São Paulo and Chapecoense face off on the 19th round of the Brazilian Serie A
at the Morumbi Stadium, that is expected to be filled.
The two teams are going through different periods on the competition. São Paulo is currently showing that they are strong on the fight for the title, while Chape is trying to gain some distance over the relegation zone.
The home side has been surprising everyone that follows the Brazilian Serie A. For those that followed it last season, they could see the difficulty that the team had, inclusively to escape relegation.
But for this year, a different style was embodied by the team that is nothing like previously desperate São Paulo.
They are coming off being eliminated from the Copa Sudamericana by Colón on penalties, after having won the 2nd leg by 0-1.
Despite that elimination, I don’t believe that the team shook itself, even because in my conception, it’s better for the team to focus solely in the Brazilian Serie A.
To illustrate my bet, I bring you some interesting stats:
Of the last 8 matches in the league, São Paulo won 7 and lost only 1, and the loss was to Grêmio that was playing at home. In front of their own fans, they are still unbeaten.
Sport vs São Paulo – 1×3
São Paulo vs Vasco – 2×1
Cruzeiro vs São Paulo – 0x2
Grêmio vs São Paulo -2×1
Chapecoense occupies the 13th place, having 3 more points than the first team inside the relegation zone. They are just coming off an elimination from the Copa do Brasil where they’ve lost both matches against Corinthians.
São Paulo vs Chapecoense – Betting Tip and Prediction:
On the Brazilian Serie A, they are coming off consecutive draws and losses, only getting 1 victory on the last 7 matches. They are making a campaign with a lot of variation and that isn’t exciting.
Chapecoense vs Corinthians-2×1
Sport vs Chapecoense – 1×1
Chapecoense vs Grêmio – 1×1
Botafogo vs Chapecoense -1×0
To conclude: I believe on a very strong São Paulo against Chape, and I don’t believe that they will be able to withstand the home side.
