Juan Martin Del Potro vs Roberto Bautista Agut – US Open Prediction and Betting Tip Preview

US Open

Juan Martin Del Potro is an Argentinian 28-year-old player that currently occupies

the 28th position in the ATP Rankings.

Del Potro is an experienced player. He has already won this Grand Slam before and he is always an outsider that can bother the other title favourites and even have a chance to win this tournament.

Especially if we consider the fact that Murray, Djokovic and Raonic are out of this tournament and that Alexander Zverev, Cilic and Berdych were already knocked out.

Del Potro has Quarter-Finals to defend here. He started off by beating Henrik Laaksonen in 3 sets, and then he beat the Spaniard Adrian Menendez Maceiras, again in straight sets.

Those were consistent exhibitions from Del Porto, who managed to do just enough to win in 3 sets.

Roberto Bautista Agut is a 29-year-old Spaniard that is currently No.13 in the ATP Rankings. Bautista Agut is a very intense and competitive player that likes to play from the baseline.

He is strong in the ball exchanges, very fierce and passionate.

He is the typical Spanish player in terms of fierceness, but he plays at a good level. He is going through a good moment: at Masters Montreal he reached the Quarter-Finals and in the week prior to this Grand Slam he opted to compete at the ATP Winston Salem, where he was able to win the tournament.

He got here very confident, even because he won that tournament last week without dropping a single set. Here in the US Open he has already beaten Andreas Seppi in 4 sets, confirming the win with a  tiebreak in the 4th and then Dustin Brown in straight sets.

Last year he reached the 3rd round here, so the points are already defended.

Juan Martin Del Potro vs Roberto Bautista Agut – Betting Tip and Prediction:

Head-to head: 1-1

We should have a very close and balanced match here between these two players. Bautista Agut is a tough opponent to beat due to his bravery and quality from the baseline. However, Del Potro is the more complete player.

He has a better ability to accelerate and his forehand is very powerful, aggressive and deep.

Del Potro has been playing just enough on this tournament, managing his effort well and this will be a match where he will have to step up his game, because his opponent’s calibre will force him to do so.

The Spaniard returns the ball really well, but Del Potro is more incisive and offensive, so he will try to control the match and win it in my opinion, although, as I’ve already said, this is a very close match in perspective.
