Porto vs Braga – Taça de Portugal :FC Porto and Braga face off at Estádio do Dragão
On the 1st leg of the semi-final of Taça de Portugal.
The two teams want to reach the final and on these first 90 minutes we should see FC Porto wanting to take a comfortable advantage to the 2nd leg at the AXA, while Braga will try to score at least a goal to have any chance of overcoming this FC Porto.
FC Porto are the current leaders of the Portuguese league, on a non-stop fight against Benfica, but they are looking to this Cup with good eyes, after having lost the final of the League Cup in January.
The truth is that the Dragons haven’t won this title since 2011. That’s a lot of time for a club that is used to winning convincingly.
After the conclusive victory in Tondela, by 0-3, I believe that Sérgio Conceição might even make 1 or 2 changes to the starting line-up, however, there aren’t many options, especially on attack, where they are still missing Marega and Aboubakar.
On a boiling Estádio do Dragão, I expect a strong response from FC Porto.
Braga is that team that’s capable of the best and the worst. Capable of the best because in my opinion they are one of the most solid teams in Portugal,
but they are also capable of the worst because, away from home, against the big teams, they usually tremble, just like we’ve already seen this year at Alvalade and at Estádio da Luz.
Abel will already have Raul Silva for the center of defence, after the club’s appeal, and he is an important “reinforcement” for this 1st leg.
Despite some absences on defence, Braga has a very complete team and with proven quality on the several positions. The loss on the last round against Belenenses, their first one at home in the league, has probably waken up the team.
For this 1st leg, I believe the task will be to at least score a goal and manage to snatch a draw or a loss by the minimum margin.
Porto vs Braga – Betting Tip and Prediction: :
This way, I believe that FC Porto should win the match. Braga is fragilized after the 2 consecutive losses and the Dragons know that, on a 2-legged tie, they need to take an advantage to the 2nd leg away from home.
Basically, this will be a preview test for the task that Porto will have against Roma, where they will have to win the encounter at home, without conceding goals, in order to overcome the Italians, which would also be a good scenario to happen against Braga.
