New York City vs New England Revolution – MLS :New York City seem like they have lost their rhythm
On their quest for direct qualification for the semi-finals of the Eastern Conference of the MLS, and now they seem far from being sure they will beat the New England Revolution at home.
Everything seemed like it would be a 3-way fight for the top two spots of this MLS conference, that allows, at the end of the regular season, a chance to taking part on the play-offs.
However, the team didn’t manage to win any of their last 3 matches. Now, the New York Red Bulls and the Atlanta United are ahead on the league table.
This streak of only 1 victory on their last 6 matches culminated with their boss Domenec Torrent saying that his team looked “scared”.
Torrent, that is a former Pep Guardiola’s assistant, took control of the team from New York in June and he recognized that the team is much stronger away from home than at the Yankee Stadium.
They are unbeaten at home in the MLS and they still have the best defensive record at home, but the impressive statistics went against the consecutive draws against the Red Bulls and the Vancouver Whitecaps.
A loss to New York would mean staying 7 points behind the New York Red Bulls, that are leading the conference, but on Thursday, they have a chance to diminish the difference between the two clubs.
Yangel Herrera, Cedric Hountondji, Jesus Medina and Jo Inge Berget should stay absent from this Thursday’s match, while Alex Callens might join them due to a knee injury. Amagat and Ofori are suspended.
It is clear that the New England Revolution aren’t doing well. The team is in terrible form and they seem to be their momentum from the
start of the season.
Currently, they sit in 8th place with 30 points conquered and they are already winless for 9 matches.
New York City vs New England Revolution – Betting Tip and Prediction:
However, they have a decent record here and they seem to have a word to say to maybe snatch a point against the team from New York.
On their last match, they have played their best to try and conquer the 3 points, but they lost the necessary composure on several occasions.
Bunbury wasted some great chances on the last match, but the North-American striker continues to be New England’s top goal scorer on the season, with 11 goals in the MLS.
I’m confident that New York City will win this match on Thursday. New York never stopped getting points in any of their last matches away from home, in the MLS, this season,
while the New England Revolution didn’t manage to score in 3 of their last 4 matches away from home.
