Miami Dolphins vs Detroit Lions – NFL : It’s weird to see a team with a better record than their opponent
Leaving the bookies suspicious, despite playing at home, right?!
But the suspicion is valid, yes, because the Miami Dolphins will once again be without their starting QB Ryan Tannehill (with a should injury that also left him out of the last match) at their disposal.
Brock Osweiler will once again start and try to guide the Dolphins to their 2nd consecutive victory – after surprisingly beating the Chicago Bears on Week 6.
It is because of that good performance against the good team from Chicago that I favour Miami.
Against the Bears, both their aerial game (with Osweiler throwing to Albert Wilson, Amendola and O’Leary) and their running game (with Frank Gore and Kenyan Drake dividing the tasks in the backfield) did well, against a defence that has players of the calibre of Khalil Mack, Akien Hicks, Leonard Floyd, Danny Trevathan and the rookie LB Roquan Smith.
The Dolphins’ attack left a good impression against the good Bears’ defence even without Ryan Tannehill on the centre.
The Detroit Lions is coming off a bye week, and before that, they’ve won at home against their biggest rivals Green Bay Packers by 31-20. However, that victory is being very overrated.
I say that because Green Bay’s kicker, Mason Crosby, missed 4 field goal attempts and 1 extra point, that would have given the victory to the Packers.
Besides that, I didn’t see a great display from the Lions’ attack or defence that justifies so much favouritism away from home against this solid Miami Dolphins’ team.
Injury Report: the Miami Dolphins have already confirmed that they won’t have at their disposal the already mentioned QB Ryan Tannehill. Besides him, the DE’s Charles Harris and Jonathan Woodard won’t play as well.
On the Lions, the RB Theo Riddick shouldn’t play, and the defensive playmaker Ezekiel Ansah is listed as doubtful and might miss another match on the season thanks to an injury.
Miami Dolphins vs Detroit Lions – Betting Tip and Prediction:
The Miami Dolphins have played well with Brock Osweiler as a quarterback and they don’t deserve this much suspicion, especially playing at home against a team that, except for the victory over the New England Patriots on week 3, hasn’t shown much under the command of the newbie head coach Matt Patricia.
I think that Miami has conditions to win, but I prefer to go on the spread, that has a lot of value.
