Kubot/Melo vs Granollers/Dodig – ATP Finals : After reaching number one of the season, winning his first Grand Slam title…

And asserting himself as one of the great doubles’ player in the world, playing with the Croatian Ivan Dodig, Melo now meets his old partner and friend again,

on the first round of the ATP Finals in London, a tournament that gathers the 8 best doubles of the season.

Melo and Kubot, started their partnership with the wrong foot, not getting good results and almost breaking it, but with time, they started working better as a unit and the titles appeared.

Next to his Polish partner, Melo conquered 6 title this season, 3 of them being Masters 1000 and 1 Grand Slam at the sacred grass of Wimbledon.

The excellent results have taken Melo back to number 1 in the world again.

Dodig and Granollers ended the season as the 7th best doubles’ team of the season. They closed the season with 3 titles: Basel, Hamburg and Rotterdam.

None of them were Grand Slams or Masters 1000.

These two partnerships have met 3 times during the season, with Dodig/Granollers winning 1 of them and Melo/Kubot winning two times, the last two.

Kubot/Melo vs Granollers/Dodig – Betting Tip and Prediction:

Without a doubt, Melo/Kubot is the doubles’ partnership that has been playing better on the 2nd half of the season. They reached, at least, the semi-finals of almost every tournament they played on.

I see Melo/Kubot superior to Dodig/Granollers on the return, on the serve and on the net game. For me, they are only worse when playing from the baseline.

But on fast courts like these London ones, with a good return, they will be able to dominate the net and take most of the points to their comfort zone.

The only loss of Melo/Kubot to Dodig/Granollers was precisely on the beginning of the season, at the Australian Open, when Melo and Kubot were still adapting.

On the two latest encounters they won, winning extremely easily in one of them. Therefore, I’ll trust the better form from the Brazil/Poland double and on the technical advantage they have over the Croatia/Spain double.
