Slovakia has banned 6 more bookmakers

Sledgehammer approach from the Slovakian government that has announced and notified 6 operators operating illegally in the country that they are banned

On the last month some operators had already been banned, namely online casinos that were operating without a license. But now, it appears some more names have joined the blacklist.

Let’s analyse which ones!

Some bookmakers of international renown were completely banned from the country so far

Operators like William Hill, bet365, 888Holdings and Bwin were added to the “Blacklist”

Until the end of the month, we have already 16 operators banned, between online casinos and sports betting agencies.

Neighbouring countries are doing the same, such as Czech Republic, for example.

It was all according to plan. First, the government started the process by warning the operators, telling them they had 10 days to go “offline” with the respective judicial notification.

By not respecting that legal order, they were risking to pay a fine that could go up to 500 thousand Euros.

But the problem is on the prohibition. Local operators and internet providers complain that they have a lot of trouble banning these sort of bookmakers.

Some operators even admit that the judicial order hasn’t arrived yet, namely na operator called O2.

Operators are a bit furious with this government’s attitude, because it attachés total responsibility for this ban to them.

The operators indicate that this is a burden for them, and that it should be the government taking care of this situation.

Besides that, they still mention that they don’t receive any kind of government funding to adopt these kinds of sanctions and supervisions.

The relations between network providers and the government are on the edge of a nervous breakdown.
