Basel vs PSV Betting Tips
- Updated: 30th July 2019
Basel vs PSV – UEFA Champions League :PSV were very lucky to win in the first leg
managing to score the tying goal at the 89th minute and then the winning goal at the 92nd minute.
However, that was an unfair result, with PSV not creating a lot of danger and despite having had more shots, it was always Basel that came to their goal more dangerously.
For Basel, the result wasn’t bad at all, losing by 1 goal away from home and with 2 goals scored can’t be considered a poor result.
The problem was the way it happened. The team had everything to come out of Eindhoven with the victory, but they ended up losing by 3-2. Now they need to recover from that result.
Basel wants to return to the Champions League and therefore, they rotated their team against St. Gallen, ending up losing by 1-2, but curiously they rarely win against St. Gallen at home anyway and that is not their concern at the moment.
They are focused on the access to the Champions League and to be honest, they’ve shown good quality in the 1st leg. Every time they reached PSV’s goal, it was with quality and at home, with the support of their fans, I’m expecting more of the same.
They have to win and by 1 goal it should be enough because I don’t see PSV scoring more than 2 goals away from home.
PSV, after how lucky they were against Basel at home, had their 2nd official match of the season, on the Supercup against Ajax, where they’ve lost by 0-2, with a weak performance, perhaps already being focused on this match,
but I don’t know if this PSV is on their best form already. Against Basel they’ve already shown a lot of defensive weaknesses and every time that Basel attacked, the team would look shaky and now, playing away from home against Basel,
I think they will have to know how to suffer to hold on to the result, but I don’t think that this PSV will be ready to play that kind of game.

Basel vs PSV – Prediction and Betting Tip: :
I predict a match with goals once again. PSV should be able to score their goal because Basel will have to open the match and look to get a good result,
but there’s also the risk of the first half being very tight, with neither team wanting to risk too much. Therefore, I prefer to go on Basel to win than the goals exactly.
Basel, in the first leg, showed me enough to trust them. Every time they attacked, they did it with quality and I can see Basel winning by 2-1 here.
